This is a recast of a 1895 Gold Sovereign Coin. One of the oldest coins still produced today, The Sovereign was first struck over 500 years ago in 1489. Sovereigns were issued for Queen Victoria in almost every year from 1838 to 1901 and has been a symbol of strength and prestige ever since. The reverse of the ring portrays St George the Dragon Slayer which was originally engraved by Benedetto Pistrucci. The tale of Saint George and the Dragon was brought back to Western Europe by returning Crusaders. The pendant is a recast from an original 1895 Sovereign Coin from the family collection of World Renowned Award Winning Master Goldsmith Marcus Platrides.
The Pendant is available in a variety of Precious Metals and Colors ranging from Pure Sterling Silver to Pure 18κ and 9κ Gold.
